  • Jacob Rice 6'3 St.Laurence(2025)

The 6'3 guard Rice is very intelligent prospect, showing impressive maturity and fundamentals despite being the youngest player in the SimpsonElite Runs. He moves off the ball well and passes the ball unselfishly, often making the extra pass along the perimeter and cutting smartly as the defense over plays him. He's not flashy or a high volume shooter but is very efficient when he does decides to be aggressive. Rice doesn't take bad shots, and rarely turns the ball over. In SimpsonElite Runs, the guard was very intentional with his patten fadeaway move, where he drained 5 of them over defenders. Rice smooth play and scoring ability reminds me of a young Devin Booker and I look forward to seeing his development over the years.

  • Anestis Hadjistamoulou 6'0 Glenbrook South(2025)

At 6'0", Hadjistamoulou is mostly operating out of the point guard position. Along with that, he possess a great pace and feel for the game that we haven't seen at SimpsonElite Runs. Hadjistamoulou is great at manipulating ball screens where it almost revert into a scoring opportunity when the ball is in his hands. He does a great job at reading the defensive coverages whether he is snaking the ball screen when the screen defender is in a drop coverage, shooting behind the screener because the defender went under the ball screen or using the probe dribble because the defender went over the ball screen. Hadjistamoulou high IQ was on display Saturday evening, it seemed as though he was apart of every play on the offensive end. He shoots the ball very well off the dribble, adequate shooter, great playmaker, and a decent defender that can gets steals.

  • Simon Weisserman 6'8 LFA(2023)

Whats makes Weisserman so special is his dual ability to threaten defenses as a shot maker and playmaker. At 6-foot-8, Weisserman is a walking mismatch because he is too strong for guards and too fluid for bigs. He spends a lot of time out on the perimeter to hunt mismatches and he specifically did a great job of using his tools as a scorer at SimpsonElite Runs. His paint presence was unmatched, he has great hands when catching the ball in the low post and he's really good when going over the left shoulder for a nice finish. Weisserman does really well of rebounding with his head up for an outlet or pushing it up the court himself. Weisserman shocked the coaches when he pushed the ball in transition full head of steam to throw down a tomahawk slam. Weisserman is solid rim protector who also do a good job of moving his feet. I expect Weisserman to have a break out year at Lake Forest Academy this upcoming season.

  • Nari Powers Warren (2024)

The BigTen recruit showed why she is being heavily recruited by the top schools in the country. At SimpsonElite Runs Powers had a stretch in the second half when she made the teams final 9 points, she's that good. She has good size at 6'1 scoring off the bounce, can post up for a over the right shoulder finish and she has great court vision. The Junior wing can score anywhere on the floor and I was really impressed on how efficient she shot the ball off the bounce and finished through traffic with her size. Powers was sidelined last year due to injury but it does not seem as though she missed any action off the court, running the floor, pushing the ball in transition, and making walk in threes, she is the complete package. With her length and lateral quickness she has the ability to be a great defender and if she grows any bigger, I wouldn't be schocked if she can guard 1-5. You can find Powers playing AAU ball with Mac Irvin Fire in the summer.

  • Litzy Lopez North Chicago (2023)

Lopez is a underrated guard at North Chicago High School that came to SimpsonElite Runs to prove that she can hold her own with really good players and that's exactly what she did. The senior guard is known for her handles, court vision, and shot making ability. What I saw at SimpsonElite Runs was a point guard that saw three plays ahead of everybody else. Using ball fakes to get defenders off their square to make the right pass to an open teammate is how solid Lopez is. Lopez is a guard that coaches would love to have on their roster because she will execute exactly what you need down the stretch. Finding players that you can trust on the floor is hard and Lopez identify's with that. Lopez has a stellar off the bounce pull up jump shot that keeps the defense honest when guarding up close.

  • Gianna Black Warren (2023)

Black has great size, good mobility and the speed to blow pass defenders. Black showed numerous of times at SimpsonElite Runs that she knows how to use her body to shield off defenders from stopping her. The returning Senior is a forward who does pretty much everything you need from a great player. She rebounds, create for her and others, can defend 1-4, can make open shots and does the little things. Black showcased her defensive abilities by capping off 3 steals reading the passing lanes and taking the ball full length to finish with a score. Black can score on all three levels. She has great hands to catch the ball in the paint and has a great feel around the basket to finish with either hand. The senior ability to step out and hit jump shots is what will free her up for more opportunities to score. Im looking forward to seeing how Black step into the leadership role at Warren this upcoming winter season.

  • Anika Youngman Warren (2024)

Youngman put her playmaking on full display last Sunday with showcasing her passing ability and quick first step. Youngman has a nice size up game that freezes the defense then blows right by them for a euro step finish. Youngman handles are tight and crisped with great footwork that it allows her to get anywhere on the floor that she wants. She has a great feel and pace for the game that it feels as if she's playing out there by herself, you can not speed her up whatsoever. With her unorthodox shooting form you'd think she wouldn't make any shots but on the contrary, she is a deadeye shooter from anywhere on the floor. I was very impressed with her IQ, outlet passes, driving in the lane doing bounce passes and hitting shooters on time, and on target, Youngman is a solid PG who is ready to run this young Warren team this upcoming season.

  • Lisette Herrera Round Lake (2025)

The small tough nose point guard is going to be something to reckon with in years to come. The lefty will be making an impact on the defensive end and once she polish up her ball handling, the sky is the limit for her game. She showed flashes of what her future can look like by beating defenders off the bounce and getting in the lane to make good and quick decisions. She is capable of knocking down the outside jump shot but prefers to do her damage in the mid range area, lost art. She is tenacious on the defensive end guarding the full length of the floor, making it hard for defenders to breath. Herrera made. few plays on the ball and deflections while playing the passing lanes. Herrera understands her role and she thrives in it.

  • Bailey Betts Grayslake Central (2026)

The incoming freshman is looking to make her mark at Grayslake Central this upcoming winter. Betts did all her work on the glass at SimpsonElite runs. Her aggression and understanding of doing her work early left Betts with lots of put backs during the runs. Watching her dive for loose balls and run the floor for easy layups is what basketball is all about. Betts does a great job of creating space and scoring off the bounce. Betts has great hands as she displayed catching multiple miscued passes that she was able to obtain. She does a great job at not turning the ball over and making the right reads. I look forward to seeing her growth over the years.

  • Kyla Smith Carmel Catholic (2023)

The 5'6 guard is a decorated complete player who can do it all. Kyla Smith showed every skill set she has at SimpsonElite Runs. Smith put the gym on notice with a MVP effort of dropping 28 points. Smith has a nice handle, can shoot a set shot, or off the bounce, she made the tie winning basket with a pull up three that sent the game to OT. What impressed me most was her ability to make acrobatics layups with either hand, it was a show to watch. Smith has quick feet which helps with her lateral movements when defending on ball. She is a pest on the defense and is not afraid to dive for a loose balls. With college coaches praising Smith ability to start the break off a rebound and taking it full court for a finish was pretty much how the run went. Smith is in her Senior season at Carmel Catholic High School, I'm expected a break out year for the senior guard.

  • Trinity Hoover Zion Benton (2023)

Trinity Hoover is a traditional big who does everything on the floor. The 5'9 center is a monster in the paint, she knows how to use her body to shield off defenders and she has a soft touch with both hands that makes it easy to finish around the basket. Hoover loves finishing over her left shoulder going middle. At SimpsonElite Runs Hoover just bodied her way to the basket, she was stronger and bigger than everyone and once she got fouled, she made them pay at the free throw line. Hoover has a nice touch on her jump shot that when she fills in the duck in spot, it's almost automatic. With doing all her work mostly in the paint, I would love to see her step out more to either shoot or drive the basketball to open the paint for driving lanes.

  • Judith Cerroblanco Round Lake (2024)

Cerroblanco is the definition of a pure shooter. She finishes at the top of her release and has a nice lift on her shot. At SimpsonElite Runs Cerroblanco had defenders closing out high because of her range and she drove right around them for easy points. Cerroblanco footwork is something special, to see her footwork on drift/lift passes was refreshing to see fundamentals in a high school setting. With her mechanics, she has a strong feel for the game, the way she was shot ready coming off screens and reading the screens was amazing to see. I would love to see her put the ball on the deck more, I think she will have more scoring opportunities for her or her teammates with this small change.
